I read 'Samoseli Pirveli'' two times too and for me it's first of all poetry without rhymes - thanks to the way Mr. Dochanashvili uses the language and not only. I liked the way the whole novel turned out to be an interpretation of a famous biblical fable and in the same time I disagree that it is specifically about some certain country, the whole novel is , as simple it may sound, about life and how beautiful and horrible it may be time by time, I guess everybody has his/her own Anna-Maria, everyone meets Michinio , visit Fairtown (I don't know how to translate it properly :P), Camora and Canudos .
The ending of the book seemed to be weird in the beginning but now I find it as beautiful as eerie and somehow mystic...
It's a great book anyway - the way it works and the way it's executed are making an amazing effect...

As I Lay Dying by Faust

Read it 2 years ago for class and was just....blown away. That stream of consciousness was done so well.... Total fangirl.
